Potting up day! 🌱🌱🌱
🌱Made up my own soil mixture with garden soil, vermiculite, and coconut coir.
🌱Working on getting my Lemon Balm, Basil, Calendula, Banana Peppers, Chianti Sunflowers, & Nasturtium until bigger pots so they can thrive.
🌱But underestimated how many pots I'd need, so I'll be making a trip to Dollar Tree today 🤣
🌱 Also planted way too many Calendula, so some of those will go into my 1st plant sale this year

Very excited for this new project- Vanilla Extract! Especially since Costco jacked up their Extract price and gave us a smaller bottle 😑 I finally found a reputable vanilla bean dealer through @firefly_homestead ! @indrivanilla has a huge variety of vanilla beans at pretty reasonable prices, and I'm looking forward to learning more about all the things you can make with vanilla beans- vanilla sugar and vanilla paste are on the list 😁

Tried @yummytoddlerfood 's idea of sprinkles to make food more interesting last night. Lo and behold, G ate yogurt for the first time since he was like 2! Whole milk Greek Yogurt with homemade strawberry rhubarb jam mixed in and topped with sprinkles FTW!

We have some extra fruit laying around, so I thought I'd break out one of my dehydrators and get them dried up! I think I'm going to try grinding the strawberries into fruit powder after!

I meant to start this second round of seeds a couple weeks ago, but.... life. 🤷‍♀️ so here we are, on this beautiful 50° day in MN, on the deck, planting seeds 😁🌱🌱🌱

•Brussels Sprouts, Basil, Peppermint, Lemon Balm, Calendula, Jalapeños, Banana Peppers, Romas, Beefsteak Tomatoes

•I'm not much of a flower person, but I'm planting Calendula for medicinal uses, and I found some Dusty Miller, Coleus, Hypoestes, and Monach of the Veldt that I bought when we lived at our previous house because there was so much shade there. So, we'll see how that goes 🤷‍♀️ we need more pollinators anyways 🌿🌼🐝

Having a pretty crappy day today, physically and emotionally, but thankful that I've been learning to push past things and not let them control my entire day. Bread needed to be made for the week, and I wanted to try this Dutch Baby/Puff Pancake from @jill.winger @theprairiehomestead cookbook with my home canned apple pie filling, so here I am.
